BIRMINGHAM AL -- Well Chapter 5 has been released in SWG. For those of you that have not seen it yet here are some of the highlights for this Chapter aside from minor fixes.

  • Reverse Engineering System
    • Allows players to remove skill modifiers from armor, clothing and weapons as "Power Bits" these can be combined with "Skill Modifier Bits" to create a new SEA. Skill modifier bits are obtained from reverse engineering junk items.
  • Camps
    • Camps are going to be the new thing (like we didn't have them before!). New camps will be made by structure traders and will contain several modules and come in several sizes. Modules will include:
      • Entertainer Area
      • Cloning Area
      • Shuttle Beacon
      • Junk Dealer
      • Imperial / Rebel Recruiter (can have both in same camp)
      • Crafting Stations (all models of station can be placed)
      • Camp Battery Module (makes camp last longer)
    • Camp sizes are as follows:
      • Basic Camp - 1 Module
      • Improved Camp - 2 Modules
      • Advanced Camp - 3 Modules
      • Elite Camp - 4 Modules
      • Luxury Camp - 6 Modules
    • Camp duration seems to be around 1 hour. Quality of materials can improve this.
  • Entertainer and Crafter Expertise
    • These areas of expertise bring all sorts of goodies, from artistic moves that allow an artist to perform unarmed like moves to reverse engineering and new schematics. For both professions the new "CL" will be 90 for master. This new level allows the character to employ weapons and armor and any clothing for their level. Also these characters are very combat capable.
    • Holographic entertainers or "backups" allows an entertainer to "clone" him/her self and have accompaniment while dancing or playing music.
    • Droidekas and combat droids are part of the new schematics for crafters. These new droids are level 60 and are well equipped to handle combat. the schematics are granted as part of the expertise boxes chosen.

There are a lot of other changes in this Chapter but I don't have time to mention them all. come on by and discover what it has to offer.

BIRMINGHAM AL -- The SWG Guild Brotherhood of Adventure has released today a new web site look and format. Website editor Tomas Cruz has said that the changes are for the purposes of making the site more pleasing to the eye as well as adding new features like a VB Script Slide show containing Screen Shots submitted by Guild members.

The new site look sports a Navigation bar on the left side with Glass look buttons "Windows Vista" style. New links within the navigation bar sport not only the existing links to the team speak server and the BoA forums but also to an all new "Links" page that will house favorite links submitted by BoA members as well as a new section for news.

The New Screen Shots gallery will allow anyone to browse through a collection of images submitted by BoA members. The gallery will automatically add new pictures added to a directory on the Site Server and present them via the VB Script using Asp.NET.

The site has been made using Microsoft's new Expression Web Designer. "This new tool will allow us to build a site that it is comparable with many more expensive sites on the net without costing the Guild Members a penny and without sacrificing quality." said Tomas Cruz Website Editor.
